Former General Electric Chairman and Salem, Massachusetts native, Jack Welch, has given $1 million for scholarships for Salem students enrolling in the business school at Salem State College. It has been a windfall year for the small state college as they have received $2 million from Analogic Corp. founder Bernard Gordon and $2.5 million from Henry Bertolon. In the words of Karen Cady, a college spokeswoman, they have “got a hat trick.” Well said.
